Tax time is upon us. Of course, this means that B&R will be featuring its seasonal favorite: Tax Crunch. Although we were living separately for most of 2009, Amy and I are filing jointly because the penalty for filing separately is pretty big. If you file separately, you can't claim a lot of right-offs. One of the big ones for us is child care.
Having a tax preparer saved us lots of money this year. He knew about potential deductions that we had never heard of. Add that to Amy receiving the New Home Buyer tax credit when we built our new home and you have some major savings. Where is that money today, by the way? I thought I saw it not long ago.

Patiently waiting
I'm waiting patiently in a lot of areas of my life. I have been able to feel Kamden bump and grind (stop it, you're filthy) inside his mamas "tummy." Amy will have to load her new video on here soon. It shows Kamden David (that's his name... stamps, no erasies, touch blue make it true, no stealing our name just because you read this and think that it is the coolest name you have ever heard) doing a little wave or ripple on her stomach. I like watching Calvin's interest in Kamden (aka Cookoo Clock). Calvin still comes up and wedges in between Amy and I when we are watching TV. He can't stand when we cuddle (not that it is often). He likes to wedge in and claim his MAMA. It will be a crazy adjustment when he can't wedge in between Mama and Kamden. Then it will be Daddy time. Haha. Poor Calvin. He's going to have to learn to sooth with me. Until now, he's been all Mama's boy.

Baby Numero Dos
So we have been trying since February for baby number two, and it seems that all we needed was a round of Clomid and a month of Calvin praying for a baby brother or sister. Saturday, September 26th at 3:30am I took that test that showed our work paid off! Josh was in Montana fishing with his dad and brother so I was going to have to keep the secret until Monday. Calvin and I went to Build-a-Bear to make a bear with Calvin's voice recorded saying "I'm going to be a big brother, yay!" Monday afternoon Josh got home and rummaged through the trash before I got home to see what the test said. Lucky for me those things go blank after 24 hours! When we got home and showed him the bear he was excited and surprised. It is funny how excited all the family and us are this time around. With Calvin it was a huge unplanned surprise. It is nice to not feel so scared and apprehensive with this one. With Calvin I had no symptoms until second trimester when I had terrible heartburn. This time, it seems from the moment of conception I have had nausea, been exhausted, had cramping in my abdomen, etc. Maybe a girl, or maybe just wishful thinking?!?
Calvin and my mom seem to think I am having twins. My mom says I look too big to only be 6 weeks. Calvin has already named them; the boy is Cuckoo Clock and the girl is Treelo.

Early progress
I am preventing myself from getting too excited about things so far. I know the dirt is ours. The pipes and the fences are cool and all. I guess I will get more enthusiastic as things progress. I know for sure that I need to get motiviated to stroke the payments. Cheers to good tax writeoffs and 2009 tax credits!
